Humility and the Elevation of the Mind to God

In Humility and the Elevation of the Mind to God, TAN Books presents a historic spiritual milestone: a hidden masterpiece by Thomas à Kempis, the legendary author of The Imitation of Christ, translated into English for the very first time by Fr. Robert Nixon, OSB. In this brief but incredibly rich volume, Kempis treats this foundational virtue with the profound, practical insight that characterized the Devotio Moderna movement. He provides an explicit roadmap to help the soul identify the deceptive, subtle manifestations of hidden pride, cultivate true lowliness of heart, and elevate the mind to a transcendent, eternal God. The volume also features a collection of Kempis's deeply personal, moving prayers alongside a classic 1597 biography of the author by Jesuit scholar Heribert Rosweyde, offering a complete, life-changing manual for interior perfection.
