Chronicles is the key to understanding not just Israel's history but our own story in Christ.

The historical books of 1 and 2 Chronicles may not have the immediate allure of other Old Testament books, yet hidden within the genealogies, royal histories, and liturgical rubrics is the design, pattern, and plan for the New Covenant.

In Kingdom Come: Unveiling the Mystery of Salvation History, renowned biblical scholar Scott Hahn and Celeste Fortenberry frame 1 and 2 Chronicles as theological treasures uniting the Old and New Testaments. From Adam to Abraham to David to Jesus, the Chronicler presents the comprehensive story of salvation. Kingdom Come in turn makes that story comprehensible.

The fascinating layers of typology present in 1 and 2 Chronicles reveal the undeniable reality of God's plan—worship, covenant, priesthood, and more—culminating in the establishment of the kingdom of God on earth: the Church. Far from a segment of Scripture to ignore, Chronicles is a living word, relevant and revelatory, that Kingdom Come accentuates for all Christians today.

November is Devoted to The Holy Souls in Purgatory

November is a month of many faces. We began with the celebration of All Saints and we will end with the First Sunday of Advent. With all this anticipation and preparation for the great Feast of Christmas, let us not forget to pray for our beloved dead. Visit a cemetery and take a walk while praying the Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet or use our pick of the month to let St. Faustina guide you in prayer for those souls still suffering. Resist the temptation to move too quickly through this month and slow down to enjoy the last beauty of fall and to honor those who have fought the good fight and now look only to finish the race.
